About

Jeff D. McAlpin

Originally hailing from borderlands of the Red River valley and the hill country of Kisatchie National Forest, Jeff D. McAlpin (“Mac” to his friends) has lived and worked in the New Orleans area since graduating magna cum laude from Southern University Law Center in 2017. He was valedictorian of his high school class and a National Merit Scholar. His undergraduate studies include a background in English, psychology, and, most recently, mathematics. He makes his home in Slidell in the Parish of St. Tammany and serves clients throughout the entire great State of Louisiana. His current personal ambition is to acquire a Corgi.

Jeff started his own firm in 2021 and has continued making a go of it, while continuing to work with other law firms. He prides himself on scrupulous (dare we say, obsessive) attention to detail and client-oriented customer service.

His hobbies include day hiking (a/k/a “slackpacking”), car camping, competitive Scrabble, and, oddly enough, mathematics. He’s continued to study applied math (particularly, actuarial science) since graduating law school.

He is privileged to have an ongoing role as a professor of legal analysis and writing with his alma mater, Southern University Law Center. He teaches students a second-year course that covers pleadings at the trial court level before moving on to appellate advocacy, which is squarely within his wheelhouse.

Jeff took the bar in Alaska right out of school, served as a clerk to a distinguished Superior Court judge in Fairbanks, and believes wholeheartedly, like the writer James A. Michener, that (all of) the world is his home.
